Guys rocked GBH again this Diwali!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I really feel unfortunate for those who missed the occassion. There weren’t any plans to celebrate Diwali @ GBH this year. The ever enthusiastic “Neerav” initiated it. I was in a double mind but finally Neerav’s interest won the game.

A mail was sent to all the associates. Since many have gone to Diwali, I had called up and confirmed the participants. Thanks to Narayanan; Mahesh who was accompanied by Tanmay and his colleague. I had requested Nagamathan & Sujan of GenRe to join us, which they agreed without any 2nd thoughts.  Archana with her friend from Satyam foundation had also participated in the GBH Diwali Mela – 2k8.

GBH would witness lots of visitors during festivals.  Alas! It was unfortunate to hear that no one came this time to meet them. We went on @ the right time to fill the dent.

Our associates were requested to assemble @ GBH by 4:00 pm. I and Neerav started the shopping by 2:30. We bought the usual flower pot & chakkars. Neerav got a chance to taste all the sweet @ Adyar Ananda bhavan to choose one for the children.  Mahesh(Mr. Punctual) was right @ the entrance of GBH @ 4:00. Narayanan, Sujan & Nag were waiting for us @ the beach station. We finally reached GBH by 4:30pm

Children were too enthusiastic to see us. We bought sweets for both the home and reception children. The home children had gone out for an outing. As the visit was unplanned, we had to get permission from the superintendent to burst the crackers. The guards were reluctant but finally managed to convince them.

Guards surrounded the place and the children came out of their room. They were made to sit in 4 lines. 4 children came out one by one and the guys helped out to light the chakkars. Whenever a flower pot was lighted, children shouted out “happy deepavali!!!!!!!!”. Everything went on fine until the last moment, when a boy escaped from the place.

In the mean time, Archana had gone out to buy new clothes to the children. After bursting out everything, the clothes were distributed to the children. The children were very happy and came forward to thank each one of us. Archana collected our signatures in a T-Shirt, to remember this juncture. People left GBH post 6:00, light heartedly.
